After six exceptional years of shared complicity and success, Valseuse de Terlong, the Selle Français mare born in 2009, is leaving the show ring to devote herself to a new adventure: motherhood.

Valseuse de Terlong joined Patricia Segura’s stable in 2018 and quickly established herself as a trusted partner and outstanding competitor. A daughter of Joyau de Bloye and Roumba de Terlong (by Manhattan), this energetic bay has shone at the finest international competitions. From Geneva to Oslo, via Dinard, La Baule and Lausanne, she has racked up the rankings, claiming 22 international victories according to the FEI. Among her outstanding achievements, it’s hard to forget her victory at the Longines Masters in Lausanne in 2019 and the title of best couple in the CSI1* at the Jumping International de La Baule the same year.

Patricia Segura says with emotion: “If there’s one thing I remember about Valseuse, it’s her huge heart. She was always there, with an incredible will to win. She really is an outstanding mare. Classed up to the 1.45 m ranking classes, Valseuse stood out for her consistency and commitment, winning almost every weekend she was entered. Incidentally, Valseuse also won the GP135 on her last appearance at Nîmes in 2024.

Today, the speed mare is enjoying a peaceful retirement at Élevage des Chaînes, where she is preparing to become a mother next year. This new phase, far from the spotlight but full of promise, will enable the champion to pass on her heritage and qualities to a new generation.

Valseuse de Terlong will always be a mare close to Patricia Segura’s heart: a tireless competitor, a loyal partner, and now a mother-to-be whose story continues to be written, differently but always with passion.
