Equestrian news from Italy
Leading horses in good shape and promising youngsters
Photos from the competition weekend in Tortona, Italy, 10 days ago. Venutot finished a brilliant third in the GP 145. Valseuse, in great form, won the 140 on the first day and took 6th place in the small GP on the second day. This form was confirmed last weekend at Busto with a second place in the 135. The show also marked the return of Voisine de Normandie after 4 months’ rest. My mare is behaving very well and will gradually move up the scale. She was clear at Tortona and finished 6th in the small GP at Busto.
As for the youngsters, Helfy des Chaînes in the 6-year-old class finished clear on the first day and 6th on the second. Thanks to Nora for all her hard work! Ilove des Chaînes had a clear round for two days. She confirms all the good things I think of her and is gaining experience for next year. And then Game On puts on the perfect show at Tortona, winning the GP 135 jump-off for her second appearance at this height. And she was the best 7-year-old of the event!
All these youngsters show great promise for the future. Keep an eye on them!
Many thanks to Diane for her support.
